Art thrives in the Heart of Belleville!

We are extremely fortunate to see Art in in all of its forms develop throughout Belleville, and in downtown in particular.

Take a walk downtown any day and see sculptures and murals, hear music filtering onto the streets, or catch a live music act at the Lincoln Theatre or at one of our local restaurants and bars.  You may also see some vintage billboard art on any of the sides of our historic buildings!

The Belleville Main Street organization holds the Art & Wine Walk the first Saturday in November.   A great way to see what downtown retailers have to offer prior to the busy holiday season, all with a glass of wine in your hand!

We are also thrilled to welcome Art on the Square to downtown every May.  If you've never experienced this family friendly event, mark your calendar for the weekend after Mother's Day!

The Mural Project is a citizen's initiated project to bring interactive Mural Art to our city.  They are currently seeking funding for this project to ensure it continues to grow.

The Belleville Philharmonic Society is an Orchestra founded in 1866 in Belleville by a group of interested citizens. It is the second oldest continuously operating orchestra in the United States.  Currently, the Philharmonic offers the Orchestra, a Chorale, and children's programs.

And our Historic Downtown is home to many Ghost Paintings, old hand painted advertisements on the side of buildings.  These pop up at you as you explore downtown.
