"I remember the day when my wife said she had made me and her an appointment to see a diet coach. I knew my diet was bad. I knew I had some bad eating habits. But a diet coach? Ok, I thought. It’s another one of her “bright ideas” and I’ll go along to just, yes, I’ll say it...to shut her up. Maybe I could see how it would go for a couple of days. Why not?
Our first appointment was in a small room in a community pharmacy. It was just me and her and the diet coach, Corina. We had to first watch a video on fats and proteins and carbs. (Insert eye roll here). To be truthful I really didn’t understand it. I was thinking to myself...what is this? What is she talking about? What is a sugar tank?? I remember looking around the room. Boxes of foods were staring back at me and I thought to myself, don’t tell me I have to eat food out of a box. Those boxes were not very big!
Skepticism. Doubt. Just a few of the sentiments I was trying not to say out loud. The look on my face probably said it all. “There’s no way I’m gonna do this”... I kept saying to myself.
Let’s put it this way; fastforward 14 weeks, a little over 3 and 1/2 months, I’m down 55 lbs. 55 lbs of fat gone from my body. 55 lbs that put pressure on my joints, making it difficult to get out of bed in the morning. 55 lbs that caused me to be short of breath when putting on my shoes. 55 lbs gone. Down 4 pants sizes, 3 shirt sizes, and just feeling overall happiness. This is something I never thought I could do. If I can do this, anyone can. Do it for you and the ones that love you. Thanks to my wife for her support. Special thanks to Corina Faust. Without her support and guidance, I wouldn’t be where I am today. She‘s changed my life!"
"I think I have tried every way to diet. Atkins, Keto, starvation...you name it. And I’m not one to stick with anything for more than2 weeks. I fall off that wagon! Every single time!!!
I’ve been successful on some diets, but it’s not about the “diet”, because diets are just that. Low calorie, low fat foods, foods that don’t satisfy and most “diets” don’t teach you what you need to know to sustain and maintain weight loss and healthy eating. What I needed was a lifestyle change. And that is what ideal protein was for me. The ideal protein program had all three of those components of a “diet”. Weight loss, stabilizing that weight loss, and the maintenance of it all, for life!!! My coach told me that I really didn’t have a lot to lose but I think once she identified my poor eating habits she continued to encourage me to stay the course. And I did it. Religiously, with the help of my husband. We cook together, we attended our counseling sessions together. We made it fun which contributed to our success.
I’m almost 20 lbs down and feeling great. Down just one pant size, but my body has completely reshaped itself!! Its such a great feeling!
Learning food portion sizes, what food ingredients do to your health and overall physiology of how the body works with digestion were some of the biggest lessons on this journey. (Am I’m a Registered Nurse!)
If I could give anybody advice it would be that the ideal protein program is exactly what you need to develop healthy eating habits. Corina, our coach is the best. She works with you, never lectures and is very supportive. She answers all of our questions at any time, and provides a rationale with her answer! She’s so smart!!! She makes it fun!
If you are struggling with your diet, and don’t truly understand digestion and are feeling run down or sluggish this is the program that can help. If you suffer from restless leg, joint pain, poor sleeping habits, diabetes, high blood pressure, this program will be of benefit. I assure you.

"For those questioning whether they can lose more or less when you restart.....
For the year I followed IP / P1, my average was 2.3lbs a weeks (some weeks more, some less, some none and yes, the odd week I gained). I phased off and due to my own issues around eating I packed on 30+ lbs. (dealing with this one day at a time).
Three weeks back on track and I’ve lost 12 lbs in total.
When I’m successful it’s 100% due to planning. Side note: when I plan I control the cost of being on P1 better, too, and when I compare what I spend in a week while on P1 to eating the way I did before, I’m actually saving money, not to mention my quality of life is vastly improved (healthier, less depressed, less anxious and waaaay more confident and happier).
